  1. Having serious Teredo issues. need help!!!

hello! so this will be a long post.

i am having issues playing online games through the xbox app. more specifically i got gamepass and downloaded Forza Horizon 4. the game works ok except for any online play. I simply cant access it.

my computer is a Dell g7 running windows 10 home v.1909

now at first I would go to settings/gaming/network gaming and run the test and at first it said that there was no connection to server and teredo cant qualify. ive since fixed this

    things ive done:

updated router firmware, enabled passthrough on ipv6, enabled UPnP, port forwarding on internal and external port 3544 UDP.
(note here: when i enabled passthrough on ipv6 i was able to run the gaming network test in gaming settings and the server connect and teredo errors went away)

ive used windows+R to go into services. IPhelper is on auto and all dependant services are running. ive set xbox live networking service to auto.

in device manager under network adapters Teredo doesnt show up. even after pressing show hidden, scan for hardware changes or when trying to add it through add legacy hardware it simply doesnt exist here. so i cant uninstall and reinstall any teredo drivers. ??? this confuses me...

so on to gpedit.msc. here i go to administrative templates and all settings and i scroll down to SetTeredo:

set teredo client port: ENABLED. [port 3544]
set teredo default qualified: ENABLED [enabled state]
set teredo refresh rate: ENABLED [30]
set teredo server name: ENABLED [win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com]
set teredo State: ENABLED [Enterprise Client]

    *restarted computer*

so with all these settings i open Command Prompt as Admin and i type: Netsh Interface Teredo show state and this is the result.

    C:\Windows\system32>Netsh Interface Teredo show state

    Teredo Parameters

    ---------------------------------------------

    Type : client

    Server Name: win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com.

Client Refresh Interval : 30 seconds

    Client Port: unspecified

    State: qualified

    Client Type: teredo client

    Network: unmanaged

    NAT: cone

NAT Special Behaviour : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes

    C:\Windows\system32>

    ----------------------------------------

now here is whats bothering me. my friend had to do similar steps in GP edit to get her online to work. but when she runs the Netsh Interface Teredo show state command. her readings show something different in a few spots. EXAMPLE:

    type: enterpriseclient (group policy)
    Server name: win1910.ipv6.microsoft.com
    client port: 3544 (group policy)
    client Type: Teredo host-specific relay
    network: MANAGED
    NAT: symmetric (port)

so what im noticing is my settings in Group policy arent being reflected in parentheses (group policy) when showing the state in command prompt. its not changing the type to enterpriseclient, client port to 3544, client type to teredo host-specific relay and says network is unmanaged. i feel my issues are HERE but i dont know how to fix them.

this is where im running out of ideas. i run the xbox network test and it says its fine. NAT is OPEN and SERVER is CONNECTED. but logging into Forza Horizon 4 im still unable to access any online muliplayer. says feature locked cant connect to the server.

ive been at this for probably 20 hours. combing posts, following instructions, watching videos. im at a complete loss and about to frisbee this fucking laptop out my front door into my yard.

  3. Teredo Issues

Hi there, I'm currently having issues with Forza Horizon 3 and Teredo to be in particular.

This is my netsh int teredo state output:

    C:\Windows\system32>netsh int teredo show state

    Teredo Parameters

    ---------------------------------------------

    Type : disabled

    Server Name : win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com.

Client Refresh Interval : 30 seconds

    Client Port : unspecified

    State : offline

    Error : none

I have tried installing Teredo Tunneling Adapter through Add Legacy Hardware on Device Manager, but Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter isn't listed there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Having serious Teredo issues. need help!!!

    Teredo unable to qualify

    Hi JayKay,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC that’s disabling
Teredo functionality. If you haven’t tried the methods listed in the following articles yet, I would suggest you to try them first and see if it works:

    Note:

Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry
if a problem occurs. To backup and restore registry key, refer to this
    link.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to
    uninstall
and re-install the Xbox app to see if you can get it to work.

    • Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    • Copy and paste the following command and hit Enter:

      Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage
    • Reboot the computer once the command is executed.
    • Once the machine restarts, launch Microsoft Store and reinstall the Xbox app.

After reinstalling the Xbox app, open Windows PowerShell (Admin)
again and copy paste the following command to enable Teredo.

netsh interface Teredo set state type=default

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
