Windows 10: having to put my password in frequently to resume activity

How do I lengthen the time my screen stays up. If I stop any activity for maybe 10 or 15 seconds, I have to sign back into screen

Note: The Windows Recovery article has the steps for resetting settings the PC, I suggest you not to perform the reset yet, as there is a change of data
and application lost, if you are okay with reinstalling application and have backed up your data, you can perform the steps.

Lost My Administrator Password

To which "this" are you referring?
- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.

Hi,

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• On the right side, you will see required sign in.
• Change it to Never.
