Windows 10: Having trouble with Nvidia update

I’m trying to set up a new computer with fresh system install and it constantly freezes indefinitely when updating Nvidia. I do own nvidia GPU and even when I install most recent drivers before connecting to the internet , the update breaks the computer. In the beginning I thought my parts were outdated so I decided to upgrade, and after spending over $400 I ran into the same problem. Maybe I didn’t need to upgrade at all... With old parts, the computer worked flawlessly for a week but I realized that was because I paused updates for 7 days. The moment they resumed, the same proble

Strongly suggest you watch some youtube videos on Macrium and follow them step by step, making sure they are current.

Also make sure you have the manual to hand, and use the extensive help provided with the product.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
