Windows 10: Hawaiian Ō character not working with Alt + 0332 in some apps

Hello! I have a problem:I'm learning Hawaiian and I need to add an Ō character to the Notepad, but after pressing Alt + 0332 it types "L", obviously a common L letter instead of an Ō.And it does the same with Alt + 0960: instead of a pi π, it types À instead.Can you help me please? I'll thank you for the answer.

ALT + NUM for special characters doesn't work on APPS

On this kind of issue where Windows apps are not working properly, we suggest resetting Windows Store apps by following these steps:

• Open the Start menu and select Settings.
• Select System, and click on Apps & features on the left pane.
• Click the app that you want to reset, and select Advanced options.
• Select Reset.

Alt codes for special characters not working

I have a new Lenovo Yoga 530 with Windows 10. My keyboard doesn't have a numpad on the right hand side.

Alt codes for special characters are not working in document apps or any other text input area in a web browser etc.

I have done the following but it hasn't worked:

1. Ease of Access Mouse settings: 'Use Mouse Keys when Numlock is on' -> OFF

2. Regedit -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Input Method -> Created a string value called EnableHexNumpad with the value
of 1

3. Use Fn and Alt keys





Nothing works to get special characters. I can use the Charmap function but it is long-winded and not conducive for fast typing (I type in languages that contain many special characters.)

Any ideas? Suggestions?

 

Little Alt Code Utility

I had originally thought of including all of the characters with accents and a lot of other special punctuation, but I was trying to keep the GUI small.
The intent of this app was for quick characters when forum posting and not a comprehensive list of all the possible alt codes.
I will give it some thought. Maybe a settings option so the GUI only displays the character sets that you need/want.
