Windows 10: HD Audio Controller for OnBoard sound not working

Hello,I would like to ask you, I have recently done clean install of Windows 7 on my computer. But later, when I installed all drivers and BIOS updates available for my NUC, I discovered, that my on board sound card is not recognizable and sound only goes trough my HDMI monitor. I tried to uninstall and reinstall audio drivers like 10 times with disabled on board audio and/or with disabled HDMI audio through BIOS. Then i tried to follow couple of guides on the internet but it is not working. In device manager it shows an exclamation mark in one of the HD AUDIO CONTROLLERs, the second one

mark in one of the HD AUDIO CONTROLLERs, the second one is fine and that is from HDMI sound card - I discovered that when I had only HDMI audio turned on in BIOS.

I realized that I did BIOS update from some version, that i cant remember, only that it was from 2015, so I would like to ask for help, is it possible that this problem could be from upgrading BIOS? Can i go somehow back? Before the re-installation of windows
everything worked correctly. When I tried installing earlier version of BIOS it aborted the installation in BIOS.

Via HD Audio - Sound and Mic not working

I went around and around with this problem too (ASUS S500CA microphone would not work after Win10 upgrade). After much frustration the fix ended up being very simple. From device manager, under: sound, video and game controllers select VIA HD or VIA HD(Win10) driver, select update driver, choose "browse computer," then "let me pick from list," then select the generic High Definition Audio driver (not any of the VIA HD choices) install, restart, fixed.

Interestingly, an update changed my driver back to VA HD(win10) today, microphone stopped working again. I quickly fixed by changing it back to generic driver.

 

No dolby digital 5.1 sound frrom realtk onboard hd audio...

Hello, I am trying to get dolby digital 5.1 sound from my yamaha soundbar..... Its capable of decoding dd5.1 as there is a light to indicate such operation. Right now I have an alienware x51 machine that has realtek hd audio and i have it wired up through
a coaxial connection. The problem is, that when i try to play any source I cannot get true DD 5.1 surround and must settle for dolby pro logic II matrix surround decoder. Oddly, enough when i choose to configure my realtek onboard audio through playback devices
the configure tab is permantely greyed out. This is true, even when the deafult device is set to realtek audio. Any suggestions? Thank you all for your time
