Windows 10: HD shows "Health Warning" and need advice on what do.

I used CrystalDiskInfo to take a look at the health of my Hard Disk . However, when I opened the application, it shows me this graphic below. My data is all backed up to Dropbox because I have no external external drive and can't afford a new one right now. What are my options and can I do anything to fix it?

What you are really looking for are health warnings. HD Tune will summarize the health of the hard drive. Try other functions of HD Tune until you see a list of hard drive characteristics with checkmarks or warnings on the right.

Numbers on your SIM might not be in the position you think. Just because they appear sorted in alphabetical order in the contacts list doesn't mean that they appear in that same order on the SIM. On the SIM they appear in the order in which you input them,
unless you delete a number in which case the next one entered takes its place.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but reallocated sectors are a sign that the drive is wearing out. You cannot repair this. The drive has spare sectors and has remapped data to new ones from sectors that have failed. Sooner or later you'll run out of spare sectors, particularly if the Reallocated Sector count is increasing with time.

Your 'power on hours' are 20545, or 2 years 4 months. That's a good life for a 'spinner'. Start planning to replace it.

You said it all when you said that reallocated sectors are a sign that it's wearing out *Sad. I truly appreciate your information and help on this. I'm gonna have to get another HD from somewhere to avoid a catastrophe. Thanks so much for your help Bree! *Smile

 

Backblaze is an authority on this subject. I have had the links and research to hand for a year or so, as I have one reallocated sector. So far it's stayed at just the one for the past year, but I have system images on an external drive I can restore to a new drive should it start to deteriorate.

Macrium Reflect (free) is recommended by most here for that.

 

The SMART status is used to predict failure of drives.
Unfortunately you cannot predict the time of the failure.

There are several ways to approach the problem depending on the circumstances.

First of all the drive files should be backed up.
The files can be backed up to another drive or to the cloud.
An image or a clone can be made of the drive using Macrium, Acronis, Paragon or similar software.

If you cannot tolerate any downtime the best option is to replace the drive now.
If you can tolerate downtime you may be able to use the drive for another year or more.
There could be problems with performance during this time or the drive could fail suddenly.
Once you have made backup images or clones you then can get the maximum use from the drive before replacing it. Once the drive fails you could restore the image or clone:

There are additional drive tests that can provide information about the drive:
1) Run HD Tune:

Post images for the results of these 3 tabs into the thead:
a) Health (SMART)
b) Benchmark
c) Full error scan
