Windows 10: HDD defragmentation stuck at Pass 4 0% Consolidated

Discus and support HDD defragmentation stuck at Pass 4 0% Consolidated in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; It's been almost 40 minutes since it's stuck at Pass 4 0% consolidated.     HDD defragmentation stuck at Pass 4 0% Consolidated


    It's been almost 40 minutes since it's stuck at Pass 4 0% consolidated. My HDD is of 1TB but only 470GB is used. Rather it has never gone over 500GB usage. Is this normal?

    Defragmentation stuck at 4%

    I made a defragmentation on a 15% fragged disk, and when it’s done it’s stuck on 4%. There were no error notifications or anything. I tried to defrag it again and it’s still stuck on 4%.

    HDD defragmentation stuck at Pass 4 0% Consolidated

    Disk Defragmenter won't let me defrag my HDD

    My computer has a HDD and an Intel optane drive installed. I opened the windows defrag tool to try and defrag my HDD and it says that both the HDD and optane drive are SSDs and can't be optimized. I found a troubleshooting guide on how to fix the defragmenter.
    I've already tried sfc/scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. The guide also said to check the disk defragmenter service to make sure that it is configured properly, and I can't find any disk defragmenter services listed in the services list.
    What can I do to get windows to defrag my HDD?
