  1. HDD failing?

Hi- I'd like to ask if the HDD C: drive in my 2013 Lenovo desktop is dying. Windows has frozen and required resetting twice in 3 months. After this last episode, restoring my backup from Norton 360 took 24 hours to transfer the first 10,000 files out of the 55,000 total via USB 2. Wish I had done some housecleaning...

Windows is fresh, since the first reset was with the Lenovo utility that returned it to v 8.1 and I downloaded the newest v 10. That restoration went fairly quickly.

And, will letting my drives run 24/7 for 5 days to restore everything kill the drives? Should I cancel, replace C: and try again?

    Thank you!

    :)

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

    HDD Corrupt ?

    Hi,

There are many possible reasons this issue is happening. We'd like to ask few questions below:

    • What is the brand name of you Hard Disk Drive?
    • How old is the HDD?
Since you already tried multiple troubleshooting steps, we suggest visiting the manufacturer's website. Find and download a hard drive diagnostic software to help resolve the issue.

Let us know how it goes.
