  1. HDD maxed out when windows update is running

Hi, my computer, a custom built PC with an i7 11700K, 32GB RAM, and a RTX 3060, has its hard drive max out whenever windows updates are being installed. Ie, the computer takes forever to do anything at all, even the Start menu can take 10 seconds to appear, and the HDD utilisation graph in task manager is a simple wall of green, 100% unwavering with response times getting into the seconds. The read write speeds are small, only a couple hundred kb/s, and the only disk consuming applications are system processes. partially because no other processes seem to be able to get a request throughAny

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

HDD maxed out when windows update is running

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond HDD maxed out when windows update is running :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
