Windows 10: HDD related BSODs after 20H2 update

This is the fourth time I'm having a crash. Everything hangs up for like 25 minutes before BSOD. I don't have an error code or minidump, because it just don't want to save itself after a BSOD and every BSOD is visible for like 0.3 of a second. It started crashing after I updated to 20H2 version. I tried doing DISM or /sfc scannow, but they are not fixing that. For now I won't be doing chkdsk, because it's taking too long and when I'm trying to uninstall updates Windows Update just hangs up. The disk is not making any strange sounds, but when system hangs up, the diode (that shows when my drive is writing/reading) starts to light up and the stops. It then repeats that "sequence".

HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

• 
  Shutdown
  your
  PC.
  
• 
  Unhooked
  the
  HDD
  and
  turn on
  your
  PC.
  
• 
  Reconnect
  your
  HDD
  and
  restart
  your
  PC.
  

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
laptop/computer's manufacturer
for further assistance.

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:
