Windows 10: HDD to SSD

I bought my windows 10 laptop a little over two years ago and have been very unsatisfied. I have consistently had problems with windows updates and the slowness. I literally click any app and wait 30 seconds to a minute for anything to happen. Even clicking the start menu. Same thing if I use the touch screen.

I have been reading some things that suggest SSD conversion, however I am not anywhere close to a computer expert and I am uncomfortable trying to do it on my own.

I guess I'm asking if there are any tech resources available that could walk me through it so I don't destroy windows completely. Or, even better, a reputable company that I can send my laptop to, with experts to make it work better.

Upgraded Windows Transfer from HDD to SSD

My windows was upgraded from 8 to 10 on my laptop few years back. I was trying to get the HDD replaced with SSD. During the copy process, the technician said windows cannot be moved to SSD as it is an upgraded version from 8 to 10.

Kindly guide if there is a possibility to copy the windows to SSD ? If so, please suggest the steps.

use steps you suggested, there should be no problem.

Just replace HDD with SSD first then run installation. Do not forget to remove Windows files from HDD after the end of a process.

I don't understand why you changed the boot order in your BIOS.

When you image or clone an HDD, and restore the image or clone to an SSD, you've got an identical copy of your computer on a different hard drive. Nothing has changed, really. So the next step is to remove the HDD from your computer and replace it with the
SSD, then carry on as normal.
