2 HDMI ports only 1 works

Probably could have saved us both trouble if I did more research first.

I think I just need Display Port to Hdmi instead of HDMI TO HDMI like I have, theres 1 hdmi output but like 3 other display ports

  3. 2 HDMI ports 1 output audio

    Hey

I have an Acer Swift laptop and I connected a USB-C adapter that has 2 USBs, 1 USB-C and 1 HDMI.

I have my TV connected to the main HDMI and 1 monitor connected to the adapter (with another HDMI to VGA extension to the monitor), however, when I have the two connected, the sound only outputs from the adapter but I only want the sound to go out from the TV HDMI.

I tried several things, re install Video drivers, first connected adapter, then TV HDMI, the other way around as well, connected both with laptop turned off, etc. I only managed to have the two connected with the audio output coming from the TV HDMI in different occasions, but I don't know how I did it, but I know it's possible, I haven't been able to do it lately.

Is there an easy way to pull this?

    HDMI

    Hi Craig,

We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

Please try the methods below and check if it works.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check.

Let’s first check if “HDMI Output” is selected as the default device.

    Follow these steps:

    • Click Start and select
      Control Panel.
    • On the right hand side of the screen, under
View by: click the drop-down icon and select Large icons.
    • Click Sound.
    • If you do not have the
HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the
playback window and select Show Disabled Device and
      Show Disconnected Device.
    • If the HDMI Output option appears, right-click
      HDMI Output and select Default
      Device.
Now the audio must be playing on HDMI

    Method 2:

I suggest you to update the HDMI drivers. Refer the below link to check how to update drivers in Windows 10.

How to: Install and Update drivers in
    Windows 10

If the issue persist, try to update the recent HDMI drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue is resolved.

I hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
