Windows 10: HDMI and USB-C Display Ports no longer working after update KB5045935 and KB5046633

Hi, These updates installed overnight yesterday, and today my laptop HP Envy x360 Ryzen 7 4000 series was stuck on a black screen.I had to restart my laptop, then when I did, my HDMI/Display hub - connected to the DP USB-C port, wasn't working, with no signal going to my monitors. I removed the hub and tried connecting a monitor directly into the HDMI out and there is no signal.Is this a known issue? Can you advise what I should do?

USB-C to Display port

Do all USB-C ports support display port? I am thinking of picking up a cheap laptop but want to be able to connect two additional displays if needed. The laptop has an HDMI and a USB-C Gen 1. Ace Aspire R R5. thanks

 

USB-c to hdmi adapter doesn’t work

It should if you have USB-C, but even then these adapters are not that reliable - nowhere near as good as using an HDMI or Display Port cable.

Did you try the troubleshooting steps I gave you? This will let you know if it can be made to work and remain stable.

USB C to HDMI/VGA adapter no longer working

1. What are the hardware specifications of the current USB-C to HDMI/VGA adapter? If it is convenient, please try to share the hardware information, including the speed of the cable and the specifications that the adapter itself can support. COMSOL CMHV02
   
2. Given that you have already tried to replace multiple USB-Cs, this may not be a problem with Firmware and Intel(R) UHD Graphics drivers. You can try to unplug these USB-C to HDMI/VGA adapters on other computers and observe whether the video output signal is good. I don't have another computer to try it on but this was working, as I used it for work then I took time off and it's now no longer working. so I purchased new ones because I thought it was due to an old one and none are working. so it's the slot, not the adapters.
   
3. At the same time, please check the usage of your USB-C output port. If you use a USB-C that does not have a video output, it may cause problems. Please refer to the ASUS official description of the USBC of the device: [Notebook] How to determine the function of USB Type-C ? | Official Support | ASUS Global This originally worked so this can't be the case.
   
4. In the meantime, try connecting an external monitor via the HDMI port on the device itself and see if the output is good. the monitor is fine - no issues with the monitor.
   

As this was previously working I believe it was due to some type of update. how do I go about rectifying this? I called ASUS and they told me they cant help me. lol
