Windows 10: hdmi and usb port not working properly after windows update

hi, pls I need help, I have been allowing "update and shutdown" when it pops up in the start menu, then after that, the HDMI and USB are not working properly they keep cutting from time to time, I use my USB with my mouse and sometimes it just stop connecting, I also have an external monitor when I tough the laptop or move it when the HDMI is connected it stops working, this is giving me a lot of concern I want to know if this is a hardware issue or it is as a result of the software update, and also what is the worst that can happen if I don't allow update again.

USB 3.0 port and HDMI port is not working after installation of WIN10

Hi,

I suggest you to check on your motherboard manufacturer site if there is a BIOS update for your device. Then you can try with a remove and reinstall of your USB and HDMI port. To do so:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Video card"

4. Right click on your video card

5. Click on "Uninstall device"

6. Click on "USB controller"

7. Right click on your USB

8. Click on "Uninstall device"

9. Repeat point form 6 to 8 for each USB device on the list

10. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

Then tell me if it works.

 

HDMI Port Stopped Working

I generally use a second monitor via an HDMI cable while working. However, it stopped working today.

I checked these:

• Windows cannot detect a second monitor when HDMI cable is connected to the second monitor.
• HDMI cable which I use works if another device is connected to the second monitor.
• My computer detects my HDMI-to-VGA converter through HDMI port.

My computer runs Windows 10 Home with latest updates installed.

I suspect this is due to a driver error. How can I fix this problem?

 

USB ports not working properly

On my new motherboard the two usb 2.0 ports at the back are working fine, which is where my keyboard and mouse are plugged into
however the usb 3 ports don't work, I tried plugging my webcam into it and it didn't work, however I plugged my external drive in and it got powered up and started vibrating but wasn't recognized at all

That leads me onto my second problem; my external drive isn't recognized on my computer on windows 7, yet I'm using it on vista and XP right now!
