Windows 10: HDMI audio not work windows 10 1909

Asus x450 -> hdmi -> Samsung TV 32inch video works fine, but audio somehow can work sometimes. 0.3/10 maybe.

till last month, im using windows7 i have no problem at all. but after install windows 10 1903. video works fine on my tv, but audio not work.

i have done googling. change/check drivers, change cable, some tweaks from other forum. nothing works.

i know how it works for a short time by. unplugging battery, then press power button for 10-20 sec. then put everything back as it was before.

voila. , audio is work on tv until i reboot or change display to laptop only then revert to projector(tv) on. then audio is not work again.

anyone please know permanent fix. please

HDMI Audio in NOT working

Please try the methods below and check if it works.

Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check.

Let’s first check if “HDMI Output” is selected as the default device.

Follow these steps:

• Click Start and select
  Control Panel.
• On the right hand side of the screen, under
  View by: click the drop-down icon and select Large icons.
• Click Sound.
• If you do not have the
  HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the
  playback window and select Show Disabled Device and
  Show Disconnected Device.
• If the HDMI Output option appears, right-click
  HDMI Output and select Default
  Device.

Now the audio must be playing on HDMI. If the issue persist, follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to update the HDMI device drivers. Refer the below link to check how to update drivers in Windows 10.

If the issue persist, try to update the recent HDMI drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue is resolved.

PC to TV through HDMI

Hi,

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

No HDMI audio output in Device Manager

The above step did not work for me. The windows audio troubleshooting tool did not fix anything.

Hi, I have the same issue. I have a Toshiba P75-A7200 laptop, I think a recent update to windows 10 removed it, because it wont even show in my available playback device list. My intel drivers are installed
and my audio drivers as well, but HDMI audio wont show up. I have tried this on other TVs with different HDMI cables with no luck.
