  1. HDMI audio not working and playback too fast on Macbook running Windows 10

Hi, I'm running Windows 10 on my Macbook Pro 2015, installed via Bootcamp. I've had Windows on this laptop for a few years, but recently have been having issues getting audio to play on my TV when connected with an HDMI cable note: the 2015 Macbook has a regular HDMI port, so there is no display port adapter in play here.

When I connect the HDMI from my laptop to my TV, the display works perfectly. When I change the audio output device to HDMI though, no audio goes through and playing any video/audio file has a weird bug where playback speed is like 10-20 faster than normal.

The only solution I've found so far is to put the computer to sleep and wake it again while the HDMI is connected, and then the audio goes to my TV as expected and playback speed goes back to normal - this also works with restarting the laptop with HDMI connected. But, if I then unplug the HDMI and plug it back it, the problems return.

I've checked the drivers using Intel's "Driver and Support Assistant" software and aside from a graphics driver that it has now updated, it confirmed all drivers are all up to date. The specific audio driver for my HDMI connection is called IntcDAud.sys, version 6.16.0.3208.

Looking around online, it seems like this has happened for others over the past couple years, but the only solution recorded was to put the laptop to sleep and wake it again as I mentioned above.

Edit: It seems after running the Intel driver assistant and it updating the graphics driver, my speakers no longer work! I've restarted a couple times now without the HDMI cable connected and can't get any audio to play through the laptop speakers.

    :)

  2. not showing hdmi audio playback option

    Hello Brahmanandarath,

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps. First check if “HDMI Output” is selected as the default device.

    • Click Start and select Control Panel.
    • On the right hand side of the screen, under View by: click the drop-down icon and select Large icons.
    • Click Sound.
    • If you do not have the HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the
playback window and select Show Disabled Device and
      Show Disconnected Device.
    • If the HDMI Output option appears, right-click HDMI Output
      and select Default Device.
    • Now the audio must be playing on HDMI.
Also try updating the recent HDMI drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue is resolved.
