Windows 10: Hdmi audio out not in sync

I have just noticed that my audio output from my laptop to my TV and from there to my sound system using optical cable is not in sync. This has been fine before but now it is not in sync. When I connect my laptop to a Bluetooth device for audio it is in sync, so just via HDMI is out of sync.The only thing that I can think has changed since it was working fine is that I recently used my Samsung galaxy tab S6 Lite to cast my laptop screen to as a second screen. I'm not sure if this will interfere with anything but it was not casting to the tablet when I try to use my TV to notice the audio is

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

If the Digital Output Device or HDMI is not an option under the Playback tab. You can run the Hardware and Device troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Type Troubleshooting in Search or Cortana.
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
• Choose Hardware and Sound.
• Click Playing Audio to run the troubleshooter.

It seems that the issue is due to incorrect audio settings. For help fixing audio or sound problems, try the audio troubleshooter.
It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.

Additionally, we suggest that check your audio settings. Make sure that your HDMI TV is set as your default sound device. Here are the steps:

• Click Start and in the Search box, type
  Sound.
• From the search results, click the Sound option.
• Under the Playback tab, click Speakers
• Click Set Default at the bottom.
• Click Apply and OK to save the settings.
