Windows 10: HDMI cable doesn't pop up under audio output options

Every time I look for answers to how to change my audio output to play on my TV instead of my laptop speaker (my current default) they direct me to this window and say to set the HDMI cable to the default. However, as you can see the HDMI connection isn't here. The strangest thing about this is that I have been able to play audio through my TV before, and did it often. It just has randomly stopped working and I have no idea why. The cable isn't broken or anything because I can still display my screen on the TV without a problem, it's just my audio that remains playing through my laptop.

No audio output though HDMI cable when connected to TV

I apologize for not addressing you in a timely manner. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

HDMI cables do support audio signals, but not all HDMI-enabled video cards support audio. If your HDTV has an audio input, you might be able to connect a separate audio cable from your computer's sound card directly to the

TV. Otherwise, you'll need to connect the audio signal to a different output device, such as external computer speakers or your home stereo system. Follow these methods and check if it helps:

By default Windows does not route sound over the HDMI output. To change this we need to change the settings in control panel.

Note: This will turn off sound from the speakers or normal audio output on the laptop. To get that back you will have to reverse this process.

a) Press Windows key + X

b) Click on "Control Panel"

c) With the Control Panel in "Control Panel Home" view please click on "Hardware and Sound"

d) Where it says "Sound" in green letters there are three options below that are in blue click on "Manage Audio Devices"

e) This will bring up a window labeled "Sound"

f) On the "Playback" tab there is listed the sound options available to you. One should read "Digital Output Device (HDMI)" Click on that.

g) There should now be a check mark on that option, make HDMI sound output as default .

h) The Sound should then play through your HDMI hookups to the TV.

No HDMI audio output

I have connected the monitor X23T-1 from Fujitsu, which has built-in speakers, with my graphics card Nvidia Geforce GT 230 via an HDMI cable at both ends. I have installed the latest graphics card driver. In the OSD menu of the X23T-1 I have selected HDMI
Audio in the section Input. In the system control panel of Nvidia I have selected X23T-1 the HDMI audio device. In Windows 10 however I do not get the option of selecting an HDMI audio device even if I let display disabled and disconnected devices. I have
also installed the latest Realtek audio driver but in the Realtek HD Audio-Manager there is no HDMI output device. I know that the speakers, the cable and the graphics card work properly because they worked properly with another mainboard but I also know that
I had some difficulties to enable the audio sound over HDMI at that time but finally it worked but now I do not know how I made it. I also know that I need Realtek HDMI Output instead of Realtek Digital Output in the device manager but it is just not there.
Can you help me?
