Windows 10: HDMI connection for laptop to TV not working

My HDMI connection to my TV from my laptop was working fine yesterday, but after a certain point once I plugged my cable back into my laptop it wouldn’t connect. Instead when I would be on a different source on my TV, my laptop’s screen would be black as if it was working. However once I went onto the source I wanted to connect to, my laptop would flick between a fully black screen with nothing on my laptop, to a another slightly lighter black screen with only my mouse shown. Laptop not recognizing TV through HDMI connection

Hello everyone!

First I do apologize if this is not the correct section for this thread.

I've had issues connecting my laptop to TV for the past day. Connection is done through an HDMI cable. Connection was good up until it randomly turned off itself while playing a game. There have been no hardware or software changes whatsoever that would affect it.

TV is SAMSUNG, Model: UE32J4000AW. Laptop info is available in My PC Specs. (laptop is brand new, week or two old)

Here's what I've tried so far:

• 3 different HDMI cables
• switching between ports on TV
• tried all projection options on Laptop
• Disable / Enable both Intel and Nvidia drivers
• Rollback Intel GPU driver and installed it back to latest version
• Re-installed Nvidia driver
• Restarted PC and TV
• Scan for hardware changes through Device Manager
• Checked Intel and Nvidia control panels - there were no available options
• Apparently both HDMI ports on the TV work as I tried them with a tv box.

I think that's all I've tried so far, will add anything else if missed. Open to suggestions.

 

HDMI not working on tv

I'm hoping one of you can help me with this. I just bought a new ASUS Laptop BR1100 (BR1100FKA-BP0548R). My problem is that when I try to connect to a smart tv using HDMI, it's not working. The problem is not the cord because when I used my Microsoft laptop, I was able to connect to the TV. Also, when I tried to connect to another tv using the same steps, the HDMI worked (so the HDMI port is also working). I'm really having a hard time trying to figure this out so I'm looking forward to your suggestions on what I should do.

 

Laptop to TV connection through HDMI not working

I bought an hdmi cable to connect my laptop to a smart tv and use it as another display but i cant get it to work. I've tried changing the hdmi ports 1, 2 and 3. My laptop also doesnt detect another display when connected through hdmi to hdmi.

My laptop model is TUF A15 with 1650Ti and the TV I'm using is a Xiaomi smart tv. This is my firdt time using an hdmi cable so any help is aprreciated.
