  2. After update today, external HDMI monitor has no sound and speaker no longer listed as audio device

My Windows 11 22H2 updated today with

2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5017389) and 2022-09 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5017271).

Now my external HDMI sound is gone.

From task tar, click sound icon, only see Lenovo laptop's built-in speaker listed (Realtek Audio).

Before I can see my HDMI monitor's speaker listed there.

Shutdown laptop and leave external monitor on does not help. Disconnect HDMI cable, power off/on monitor did not help either.

Audio of Device Manager does not list external HDMI monitor's speaker listed there neither.

I especially suspect KB5017271 caused the problem. Was updated KB5017389 first and it seemed was fine with external HDMI monitor speaker (but not 100% sure) which was updated first.

Windows 11: second monitor turned standby and won't turn on

I am working from a newly built computer which is connected to 2 monitors (MSI Optix G241 23.8" 1920 x 1080 144 Hz) through Display Port, and an attached 3rd TV (SAMSUNG) screen through HDMI, which is mostly not activated/in use. These are all connected to my graphics card (MSI MECH 2X OC Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB). I have been running a 2-3 monitor set up for many years without issues, and even after constructing the new computer it worked perfectly fine, for a while, until..

My second monitor has turned to Standby mode (I assume this happened after the screen went into sleep mode), and won't re-activate.

When turning the monitor off (from Standby) and on again, it stays black for a while after which it says "DP No Signal" and turns back to Standby mode.

    I've attempted the following:

    1. Recently bought a new Display Port cable to connect to my graphics card (I thought it was the cable, but it shouldn't be?). This cable seemed to work fine.
      1. I needed a new cable to connect to my new graphics card. This was before the issue revealed.
      2. The functioning monitor runs on a different cable.
    2. Turn the monitor off and on again.
      1. I have turning off the screen and disconnecting the power source for 30+ seconds.
    3. Restarted the computer.
    4. Checked the BIOS settings, could not find any solution (but tips are welcome).
    5. Switched the DP ports of the monitors on the graphics card, this let the second screen start up and work for a while, until it went into sleep mode again.
    6. Fiddled with AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition (v23.12.1), but haven't found a solution there (but tips are welcome).
    7. Uninstalled the monitor and display drivers.
    8. I have reset the factory settings via the screen menu.
      1. I have setting the Input Source to DP instead of HDMI turns the screen black (but turned on) again, after a some seconds it resets back to HDMI.
    9. I have connected it through an HDMI port on the monitor, to my HDMI connection on the graphics card, however this is normally used by my TV, so not a permanent solution. However, the screen appears the function fine via HDMI.

I am running Windows 11, and have ran my Windows Updates.

I am not sure on how to resolve this issue, please help!

If any additional information is required, please let me know!

  4. HDMI Monitor Turns off when trying to update to windows 11

Windows 11 does not work with Monitor in Display Port, but HDMI ¿?

Thanks, but I've already followed that (obvious) steps...

    It's curious:

    - If I start the computer with 1 monitor using Hdmi cable, it works (shown windows 11 fine)

    - If I start the computer with 2 monitors (1 using hdmi cable, 1 using display port cable), it works (shown windows 11 fine in dual screen)

    - If I start the computer with 1 monitor using Display Port cable, it works until windows 11 loads... shown Bios/Post boot... but then black screen not showing windows 11. It's a Microsoft Windows matter. I do press Shift + Start + Ctrl + B (to reset 'graphics') the monitor does a 'flick' but continue without showing windows 11.
