Windows 10: Hdmi not working

This morning I woke up and started up my laptop a recently purchased Asus F571GD-BQ257T. Usually this involves a second tv-screen as secondary display, however today I found this to not be working properly.

I have already done some troubleshooting, some of this includes:

• restarting my devices
• checking the cable which worked on other devices such as my xbox360
• checking for updates for my display drivers via device manager
• uninstalling drivers and restarting my laptop
• going to Nvidia's site and installing updates for my driver Geforce GTX 1050
• going to Intel's site and installing any updates they recommended me to get
• checking the port for any signs of breaking

Last night it was working fine, and the only thing I could see that was updated yesterday was Microsoft Edge. I am really at a loss of what to do, this laptop is still very new and I'd rather not get a replacement this quickly. I'd really like some advice/assistance with this problem.

One possible reason why the HDMI sound does not work is due to the conflicts with the playback settings. For us to help you make the HDMI sound to work, we suggest that you answer the following questions for further research:

• Have you made any recent changes to your computer?
• What is the current build and version of your Windows 10?
• Have you tried to download and install the most updated sound and display driver of your computer?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you perform the steps on this
article as our initial troubleshooting and see if there will be any changes on the HDMI sound.

Why exactly is ATi considered be better at HDMI?

I plug my HDMI cable into the card, then into my TV. Those are the steps that I have to do. All the steps you list make absolutely no sense to me.

Sound works fine only issue with me is underscan when connecting to my tv.
