Windows 10: HDMI output from PC is restricted to 30Hz

I just switched from a TCL 4K 60Hz TV to an Insignia 4K 60Hz TV and when my PC is connected to the Insignia via HDMI the output is limited to 30Hz. It is 60Hz when connected to the TCL. In Device Manager there are two Generic PnP Monitors listed and attempting to update either results in "The best drivers for your device are already installed." When I select "Let me pick form a list of available drivers on my computer" the only driver listed when "show compatible hardware" is checked is "Generic PnP Monitor." When "show compatible hardware" is unchecked, my TV is not listed and there are no 4K

PC to TV through HDMI

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

Can't change refresh rate to 60hz cuz Windows only shows 30hz

Connected my monitor (Samsung UH750) over HDMI 2.1 to my PC (750 TI with no DisplayPort) and it is stuck at 30hz even though the monitor has 60hz. The HDMI 2.0 cable supports 4k & 60hz also the monitors HDMI outputs support 60hz. Still Windows only shows
30hz or below (Windows 10) I also have installed latest drivers. Any help is welcome.

 

Is it possible to play sound through headphones and HDMI output simultaneously?

Hi David,

I would like to inform that it is not possible to output sound through both the HDMI and the headphone jack simultaneously.

But you can watch video through HDMI and listen via headphone jack.

Follow the steps below.

• Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar
• Left click playback devices
• Right click HDMI
• Select Disable.
