Windows 10: HDMI output to TV has stopped working, used to work

I used to plug my Windows 10 laptop into my Sony A80J Google TV via HDMI cable for a long time and everything worked beautifully. But now, a few months later, when I plug my laptop in, I just get a green/red flickering screen of garbage on the TV, which doesn't change. I haven't changed any TV settings. I have tried Win-P to both duplicate and extend my display like I said, it always used to work.I've tried different HDMI cables including the one that always worked, but none of them work. I've tried USB-C on the laptop to HDMI on the TV, but that gives image only, no sound.I can also plug

HDMI not working on tv

I'm hoping one of you can help me with this. I just bought a new ASUS Laptop BR1100 (BR1100FKA-BP0548R). My problem is that when I try to connect to a smart tv using HDMI, it's not working. The problem is not the cord because when I used my Microsoft laptop, I was able to connect to the TV. Also, when I tried to connect to another tv using the same steps, the HDMI worked (so the HDMI port is also working). I'm really having a hard time trying to figure this out so I'm looking forward to your suggestions on what I should do.

• Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
• Did you get any error messages when you tried to connect your computer to your TV?
• Have you tried updating your HDMI audio driver?

HDMI to TV will not work now !!

It could be a bad splitter in your HDMI adapters. Try changing it to see if it helps.

Turn on your HDMI TV or HDMI speaker and only then boot your PC. Then turn off the TV or speaker, unplug the devices altogether, wait for one minute, plug them back in and turn them on again. Now that you refreshed your HDMI connection, follow the steps listed
below.

Make sure that your HDMI device is the Default Device

First things first, if your HDMI device is not set as the default device, the HDMI output is unavailable. Here’s how you can set the HDMI device as the Default Device:

Right-click on the volume icon on the task bar.

Select ‘Playback devices’ > in the newly open Playback tab, simply select Digital Output Device or HDMI.

Select ‘Set Default’ > click OK. Now, the HDMI sound output is set as default.

Also, make sure that the ‘Show disconnected devices’ option is enabled, so that your PC can display all the devices connected to it.
