Windows 10: HDMI to USB - C adaptor issue

The cord for HDMI to USB-C that I use is connected and lit up which means "ready to go" however my surface screen is not transferring to the second monitor


I have tried everything; updates, re boot, wiggling cord, cord in and out, troubleshooting, display settings

installing benfei USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor

Trying to set up 2 screens off of a del laptop - screens have hdmi connections and there is only one hdmi port on the laptop. I have purchased a benfei adaptor USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor.

Cannot get the second screen working - scfreen says no hdmi signal . Laptop cannot detect the 3rd screen.

IT dept tell me that this should work and both screens work individually from the laptop hdmi port.

any suggestions?

There is always a risk when buying such an unusual adapter so read through the user reviews before deciding.

• I imagine that you will find complaints about each one of them as well as some glowing reports so you might end up spending half the day deciding which one is worth trying.
• Be prepared for disappointment. Personally, I would only buy one that is supplied by Amazon so that I would have direct recourse to them if it did not work - many of their Marketplace sellers are excellent when it comes to problems but many are not.
