Windows 10: HDR causing GPU scaling to be forced display scaling option missing after wake up/signal loss

When using HDR on Windows 11 latest updates, my monitor either does not get any signal or, after it goes to sleep, the display scaling, which is typically display, gets switched to GPU and locked. The display option will disappear until either reboot or manually unplug the power or DisplayPort cable. The other thing to do is to disable HDR, and it will not do this/happen. Two different graphics cards, a 2070 Super EVGA and a gigabyte 3070, displayed this on the latest drivers and have had this issue for months.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to customize the display scaling and check if it helps.

• Right click on the open area on the Desktop.
• Select the Graphics properties.
• Click on Display option.
• Click on the General settings from the left pane.
• Under the Scaling click on the Customize
  Aspect Ratio and try to customize.
• Click on Apply.
• If you want to reset the display scaling settings then follow till the above 4th step.
• Then under the Scaling click on the Maintain Display Scaling.
• Click on Apply.

Is there a way to force DPI scaling?

Let me answer your query regarding DPI scaling.



Please be informed that you cannot force a DPI scaling on a particular app, right now there is no option to do that. If you have set a custom scaling level to 250% and if the app doesn’t support, to run the app, you have to disable
dpi scaling for that particular app.



You may follow the below steps and check.



1. You may right-click the application’s shortcut and then click Properties.

2. On the Compatibility tab, select “Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings” and then click OK.

3. Now check if you can use the application.
