Windows 10: Headphone connected to monitor - DP is okay but no audio with HDMI

I have a monitor with no speakers. If I connect my headphones to my pc I get audio with both HDMI and DP cables. If I connect it to my monitor though, I only get audio with DP cable. I need it to be connected to the monitor because I use more than one device with audio, and all my devices use HDMI. Just in case it helps, I'm running an integrated gpu, the one that comes with i7 4770. 3440x1440 50hz.Here's what it looks like with headphones connected to monitor and HDMI cable:

Windows from HDMI monitor move to DP monitor when monitors go to sleep.

According to your description, I knew that you have two external monitors of similar model connected via HDMI and DP, but when the system goes to sleep, the DP-connected monitor goes straight to black, but the HDMI-connected monitor shows "no signal" and then goes black, and when you go to sleep from sleep, the DP-connected monitor goes straight to black All windows in HDMI monitor moved to DP monitor when computer was woken up and the resolution was not normal. If my understanding is wrong, please correct me in the reply.



Based on the available information, the speculation is that when the system goes to sleep, your HDMI connected monitor will be directly disconnected, it is recommended that you turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" by follow steps. "Win" + "X" > "Device Manager" > "Display Adapter", double click "Display Adapter" to expand the entry, you will see a list of your monitor device names, then select your external monitor device names(try both), right click > " Properties" > "Power Management" tab, then uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", then press Enter to confirm.

Sound only going to monitor (HDMI)

This looks okay?




I have tried disabling that monitor channel, rebooting and then the sound comes from nowhere... Only when it's on HDMI do I see sound bouncing around on the level indicator...

No idea why my Razor mouse is on the list!

...I have speakers (also tried headphones) connected. Also before this problem (before MSI board utilities&drivers) it worked fine so im fairly sure the headphone jack is okay.

 

Audio Devices via DP/HDMI "disappearing" after 2004 update

After updating to 2004, either my monitor or tv would disappear from the audio device list when:

(monitor is on, I turn on tv, and turning tv back off.)

It would only show either the monitor or tv on the audio devices list. Unplugging and plugging hdmi/dp cable would not work since it would only show the last connected device's audio.

Downgrading GPU and GPU audio driver did not work, "workarounds" are either to reboot or disable and re-enabling Nvidia audio driver
