Windows 10: Headphone Issue Windows 11

In windows 10, when I plugged in my headphones to my laptop there was an option to select "over ear", "in ear" or "on ear". This feature seems to have disappeared in windows 11. When i plug my headphones in with windows 11, there is only the option to choose headphones, headset or speakers. The headphone option sound like the "in ear" option from windows 10 even though they are over ear phones. I have tried everything in settings but nothing really makes a difference to the sound quality. It almost sounds like there is a hard cut around 500hz and below and it makes working on music imposs

• Have you tried using a different headphone to isolate the issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you set the headphone as the default device on your computer. Here's how:

• Open Control Panel.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Click Sound.
• Choose Headphones and click Set default button at the bottom.
• In some cases, there is no headphone option alone, but Speakers/Headphone. If that’s the case, select that and click
  Set default button at the bottom.
• Press OK.

If the issue persists, then you can update your driver by following the steps

I tried the steps you suggested but there was no instance of headphones in device manager. Still facing same issue.
