Windows 10: Headphone Jack doesnt detect headphones after a reset.

Hi, so i did a reset of my pc (the basic one under recovery, just deleted all the files) and after the reset my headphones stopped being detected by the laptop.

Whenever i put them in i get the usual popup asking me what type of device this is and the usual headphone option is missing. If i chose any of the remaining options nothing happens, the sound is still being played from my laptop.

I know the headphones are functioning since they work on other devices and also i was using them right before the reset.

I have updated all my drivers. Also the realtech manager is not working for me. Its not in the control panel, and if i launch it from the folder i get an icon on the taskbar but cannot access it.


If anyone has a solution, please help me out with this.

Front panel jack doesn't detect Headphones

In the previous versions of Windows, this feature is auto detected. To better assist you, please answer the questions below:

• Have you tried connecting a different headphones to the front panel jack?
• Did the PC detect the headphones when it was connected at the back panel jack?
• Did you encounter an error message, when the headphones are connected to front panel jack?

Headphone jack conflicts with bose??

Right, there is no marked "headphone" jack on the rear of your computer BUT it is the same as the Speaker jack, usually light green and usually the middle jack of three or maybe you have 2 rows of jacks. Not all motherboards use exactly the same layout but most use the light green jack for speakers/headphone. Plugging speakers or headphones into the front jack should cut out any speakers plugged into the rear jack.

Did you have to install software for the Bose? That may be taking control of things.
