Headphone jack stopped working after Windows 10 update

After Windows 10 update yesterday, the headphone/external mic jack stopped working on my Dell. When plugged in, the sound would still come out of the Dell speakers. As for the mic, there would be no usable mic at all when the jack is plugged in because the Dell mic would stop receiving. Any suggestions?

    :)

Issues with headphones or headphone jack could have happened due to hardware issues. To isolate your concern, we suggest that you update your driver. You can follow this

  3. Headphone jack not working

I recently updated to the highly anticipated Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and unfortunately my headphone jack has stopped working. The headphones play fine in any other device, and my Dell XPS 13 laptop speakers work as well
