Windows 10: Headphone/Mic combo aren't working

I have a headset, it has two adapters, but one is a headphone jack, and the other is a USB jack, it didn't pick up the USB for either sound or microphone, it doesn't show any sign of even being inputted, so i bought an adapter to convert it to a headphone jack, it now picks up the headphones, but it doesn't work, whenever I troubleshoot it says it can't find an issue, for either microphones or sound it doesn't work. I have two ports on my computer one for microphone and one for sound, I also have two on the back of the computer. When I plug in the original headphone adapter that is connected to the headset into either jack it is picked up and works for both sound and microphone, but it cannot do both at once, so I don't know why there is a USB port at all and why the headphone adapter can't do both at once. The device is picked up as Realtek audio and a variety of devices, stereo mix, micophone or audio.

1x Headphone/mic combo jack not working

I have an Asus ROG GL551JW-DS71 gaming laptop, with a 1x headphone/mic combo jack that's supposed to allow me to use both headphones and a microphone. I use a headset with a separate headphone and microphone jack, and use a audio mic splitter that came
with it to connect to my laptop. The problem is that the mic is that the headset is not detected by windows. I hear sound out of the headphones, but when I speak, the only mic that picks up anything is the laptops. Please help, I'm a heavy gamer so not having
a functional mic is not a good thing.

 

Headphone mic not working with laptop 3.5mm port

I have sennheiser hd4.40 wireless headphone. I also got a cable with headphone having 2.5mm pin(attached to headphone) to 3.5mm pin(attached to mobile phone).

Problem is that when i connect 3.5mm pin to my mobile phone headphone jack, in call i am able to use mic and headphone both at same time but:

1. When i connect the 3.5mm pin to 3.5mm jack for mic on my laptop, i am not able to use the mic.(my laptop has separate 3.5mm mic and 3.5mm headphone jack)
   
2. When i connect to 3.5mm jack for headphone, only headphone is working with laptop not mic.
   

Please do not suggest why I am not using Bluetooth because it is a separate problem.

I am missing something or maybe this may be limitation or something else. Help me on this. :-(

 

Front Panel Headphones and Mic not working.

Hey Everyone,

Mobo : ASUS M2N MX SE
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 5200+
OS : Windows XP Professional SP2 x86

My Rear panel Speakers and mic works all fine. I got a new set of headphones(with mic) when i connect it to the front panel they don't work. NO SOUND OUTPUT.

I updated the audio drivers. I tried a few many things but I still can't get them running.
My default Sound Manager is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Please help me get my Front Panel working. A step-by-step guide would be better.
