Windows 10: Headphone randomly stopped working normally after using voice chats

While I was in an online game using live voice chat my headphones disconnected becasue there was no noise playing. when I reconnected the headphones everything went crazy. I am given a microphone option of headset, and a speaker option of headphone and headset. when I connect both in and output to headset it picks up my microphone but I cant hear anything, if I have output connected to Headphone and Input on Headset then I cant hear anything and my mic stops working. if I set my default output device to headset it becomes the worst audio quality I have ever heard. Finally if I use my computers

As per the description, the issue might be caused due to damage in the port. I suggest you to connect another headphone and check if the same issue persists. This is to check if the issue is with the hardware.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps provided below:

• Type troubleshooting in the Search box and press Enter.
• Click on View All in the left navigation pane.
• Click on Hardware and Devices and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.

Voice chat audio no longer comes through Default communication device (mic works fine)

A factor why you're voice chat sounds goes through your speakers as well is due to configuration settings. We suggest that you configure playback devices. Follow the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound >
  Sound.
• Left-click on Speakers > Click on Set as Default Device.
• Left-click on Headphones > Select Set as Default Communication Device.
• Click OK.

If the issue still occurs, contact your device manufacturer's support for assistance on configuring your device.

Remove voice chat echo without needing headphones

When I voice chat with 3 people (using Discord/Teamspeak/Skype etc) and one of them talks their voice gets echoed from my end so the 3rd person can hear them twice. When I talk they can only hear me once.

I don't wear headphones so I know it's the feedback from my speakers that they are hearing.

In my old PC I used to use Acoustic Echo Cancellation which came part of Realtek HD Audio that solved this problem. My current laptop doesn't support this feature.

How do I go about solving this issue without needing to put in my headphones? Is there perhaps a built in tool for Windows 10 or an application I can use?
