Windows 10: Headphones audio becomes all distorted and wavy when plugging it into a new device.

I plug my headset into my laptop, It worked on my chromebook perfectly fine, but when I plugged it into my laptop, then a few hours later I plugged it out and back into the chromebook, The audio became all distorted and wavy, My laptop is a ASUS R500V and my chromebook is a Lenovo Chromebook E11, The operating system I use is Windows 10, and this has happened to multiple sets of headphones, Just didnt know where to post it.The audio becomes normal only when using on the ASUS R500V.Please respond quickly!

DTS Audio Control and headphone plug

This issue with the DTS Audio Control can be caused by system corruption on the application itself. As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you uninstall the application. Here's how:

• Type DTS in the search field at the task bar.
• Right-click on the DTS Audio Control in the results.
• Click Uninstall.
• Once done, proceed with installing it back.

You can also check out with HP as the manufacturer of this application for any updated drivers that can help to resolve the issue.

You may try to plug in the headphone again once the issue has been resolved. If it is the same, try a different headphone and let us know about the results.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 show up as Unspecified/non-audio device upon initial connection. Choppy distorted and intermittent audio

When connecting headphones to Windows 10 the first time, they are not added as an audio device and appear under Other Devices. Headphones do not appear as an option in the Sound control panel. Going into Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers
and enabling all Bluetooth Services in the Properties of the Headphones in the Unspecified section makes them appear as an audio device.

Audio played through headphones (Chrome, Groove, iTunes) is choppy, intermittent, and distorted. There are popping or crackling sounds when audio is playing and when it isn't. Audio plays perfectly fine when connected to Pixel phone or Mac. No such issues on
those devices.

Steps take to resolve:

Set as default device

Disabled all background services

Rebooted / reset headphones

Cleared bluetooth device list from headphones

Removed headphones from bluetooth list of all devices

Unpaired and re-paired, only to PC

Restarted PC

Updated PC

Updated headphones

Ran Windows control panel troubleshooters





Is there any way to fix this problem?

 

Headphones output device is not plugged in

A quick update about additional steps I tried:

1. Uninstall KB4512508 (no effect)
2. Re-install KB4512508 (no effect)
3. Disable and re-enable High Definition Audio Device via device manager (no effect)
   

As a last ditch I booted the PC with a live OS from USB storage and to my surprise the Headphones socket on the front panel was detected and worked fine. I think this should rule out a hardware-related issue.

Once again, I would appreciate any suggestion to solve this problem.
