Windows 10: Headphones not appearing as an input device Windows 11 Build 22631.4037

Google Pixel Buds Pro, will connect fine playback music etc. However the microphone does not work at all, within sound playback settings I have only enable the Pixel Buds + Hands free version. Within sound recording and playback settings the hands free version doesn't allow me to connect it nor set it as default. Have unpaired, repaired, uninstalled Bluetooth drivers, restarted services. Hands-free service telephony is enabled. Have also tried with plugged in headphones with a microphone and still cannot get them to appear as an input device.Any help would be greatly appreciated. My headphones will not act as an input and output device

Hi, I have a Astro Gaming A10 headset. My headset has a mic and I'm able to both speak and listen when i use it on Xbox. However when i plug it into my Windows 11 PC it will only detect as an input, allowing me only to speak, or as an output, allowing me only to hear. When i look at the sound settings it will only show the headphones as input or output and will not appear if i click on the opposite setting. These are the microphone specs

• Microphone: 0.24 in (6 mm) uni-directional microphone
  
• Ear coupling: Over-Ear
  
• Connection: 0.14 in (3.5 mm) 5 Pole Jack
  
• Drivers: 1.30 in (33 mm) Neodynamic
  

I made sure to check if my computer was updated and that the headphones are not physically broken. Essentially i can only have input or output on the headphones.

Headphones not showing up in the input devices

Everytime I plug in my headphones the audio sounds fine but it does not record sound. I've tried using the same headphones with my phone and it works fine. When it does record sound its using the mic next to the camera because my headphones just does not
show up in the input devices list.

Method 1:
Hardware and devices troubleshooter

The built-in hardware and devices troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues with hardware. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if there is any issue with
the display adapter. Refer top these steps:

• Open Control Panel
• Click on Troubleshooting and select the view all option on the left pane.
• Click on Hardware and devices troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

Try method 2, if the issue persist

Method 2: If the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter do not fix
the issue then I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers and reboot the computer to get the updated drivers installed for the headphone. Please follow below mentioned steps:

• Open Control Panel
• Click on Device Manager and select the audio input and output drivers
• Right click on driver that appears after plugging the headphone and click on uninstall
• After uninstalling, unplug the headphone and restart the computer
• Plugging the headphone again and the computer will detect the updates drivers automatically.
  

Now check if the headphones work on the computer or not.
