Windows 10: headphones not detected in newly upgraded windows 10

I just upgraded my pavilion g6 laptop to windows 10 (from windows 8.1) and I have just finished setting it up. I had some speaker driver issues but I fixed them by uninstalling and downloading some drivers from the dell pages (IDT speakers). From yesterday morning that I got windows 10 and starting optimizing and setting up it up. I have downloaded my games and apps, downloaded all the drivers and generally tweaked my system up (didn't change anything that wasn't recommended) and also my headphones are actually a headset but the mic is detected and used really well by windows 10, but the "headphones" part is not. When I wear and plug my headphones in I hear whatever is playing but because the speakers are working and sending sound. The headset is a kotion each 2000 and from what I know it has no thing like drivers. They don't even have a webpage or anything to help their customers. I really regret going for a headset when I barely had any money. But well can it be saved or will I have to get a new headset?

In short for ppl in rush= headphones aren't detected by windows 10 ( recently upgraded from windows 8.1) and they worked fine before the upgrade. Kotion each 2000, company doesn't have a page and my problem is that the headphones part of the headset has not been detected by windows 10. I haven't done anything that could have damaged or made them undetectable in the meantime.

Yeah i don't even know what the thing on the hdmi port is and the mic is currently not detected because I don't have my mic plugged in.

Headphones Not Detected

Wasn't sure what topic to put this under.

Windows 10 refuses to detect my headphones from my headset. The mic is fine. The computer even recognizes when I plug the headphones of the headset in. But it refuses to detect them. I can go into my Sound in Control Panel all day, and there will NEVER be any
headphones in that list. So, no, I cannot click headphones, just making that clear before someone suggests clicking on headphones.

How do I force Windows 10 to detect the headphones that I have plugged in, so that they will work? The jack is working fine. When I plug them in it gives me the pop-up letting me know that I plugged something into the jack. But that's the end of it. It will
not detect the headphones. Nothing comes out of them. There are no headphones in the Sound list. There is nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Why does it register something is plugged in and then refuse to detect it?

Someone please figure out why Windows 10 simply cannot detect headphones and help me fix this so I can use my headset.

• What is the make and model of your laptop?
• Is this issue specific only to the headphones?
• Is your headphones working fine on other devices?
• What exactly happens when you try to access the headphones?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers after upgrading to Windows 10. Try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if the headphones is set to playback device.

Follow the below:

• Connect the headphones to your device.
• Right click on the sound icon at the bottom right corner of the taskbar.
• Click on Playback devices.
• Check if you are able to find the headphone in the list of connected playback devices.
• If yes, click on the icon and then click on Set default option.
• Click on Apply and then on OK.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Also, visit the computer manufacturer’s website and install the drivers being found and check if it helps.

Headphone Connection

the display adapter. Refer top these steps:

• Open Control Panel
• Click on Troubleshooting and select the view all option on the left pane.

Try method 2, if the issue persist

Method 2: If the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter do not fix
the issue then I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers and reboot the computer to get the updated drivers installed for the headphone. Please follow below mentioned steps:

• Open Control Panel
• Click on Device Manager and select the audio input and output drivers
• Right click on driver that appears after plugging the headphone and click on uninstall
• After uninstalling, unplug the headphone and restart the computer
• Plugging the headphone again and the computer will detect the updates drivers automatically.
  

Now check if the headphones work on the computer or not.
