Windows 10: Headphones Not Showing Up in Device Manager?

I have a Plantronics 400HS RIG headset. Audio comes out of the headset and I am able to use the microphone attached to the headset on games. However, when I go to the device manager to see my headset, it does not show up? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Colin,

If you plugin headphones to a built-in headphone port then in the Playback devices will not show as a separate headphone device, instead its integrated within the default Speakers/Headphone devices which shows up in the Playback devices. If you plugin a
USB external headphone then it will show up in the Playback devices as a separate device.

If that would be the case, we suggest that you install and update drivers on your Windows 10 computer to check if that's the one causing the issue.

You would only probably see the USB connected portion of the Headset , and it may be under HID , not have a listing of it's own .

Use USBDeview to see what the system has attached via USB , and to uninstall items etc as needed... it's a great little Program
