Windows 10: Headphones switching ?

Hello since I installed windows 11 my wireless headphones keep switching from normal to a weird different mode where the quality just drops from the sky example when i enter a discord voice, a new game through a platform like geforcenow, or lol voice. It just switched somehow and the quality is way worse, to the point where is not really nice to use

To make sure I understand correctly, what exactly do you mean by "keeps switching to headphones only"? Was a headphone plugged in when that happens?

I would suggest you to try disabling the headphone and setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

2. Select "playback devices".

3. If headphone is listed, right click and disable it.

4. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

5. Save the changes.

most of the cans you listed will also need an amp to push them.

Try method 2, if the issue persist

Method 2: If the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter do not fix
the issue then I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers and reboot the computer to get the updated drivers installed for the headphone. Please follow below mentioned steps:

• Open Control Panel
• Click on Device Manager and select the audio input and output drivers
• Right click on driver that appears after plugging the headphone and click on uninstall
• After uninstalling, unplug the headphone and restart the computer
• Plugging the headphone again and the computer will detect the updates drivers automatically.
  

Now check if the headphones work on the computer or not.
