Windows 10: headset connected but not working / can't test sound of audio device

I have plantronics headset that works on a laptop OS win 10 64bit.
But it doesn't work on my desktop PC OS won 10 64bit.
downloaded and installed the latest drivers.
It's a plantronics legend UC headset
on the audio device manager there are no bars next to the headset device.

any ideas how to fix this?

Audio problem after changing default device.

Hi,

Since november, I'm facing an issue I can't resolve. I'm using Windows 10.

I went out a few days and when I came home, I had no more sound on my speakers. It's an external home theater amplifier connected via HDMI to my GeForce. I double/triple checked the power, the input on the amp, the sound mode (stereo, etc) and the connexion,
but nothing. The amp is recognized by Windows, I can configure the speakers, do the test, when there a source the green bars moves next to the device but I can't ear any sound. I updated my Nvidia driver and the sound came back. So I tought it was just a bad
driver issue.

A few days later, I switched my default device from this HDMI amp to my USB headset. After going back to HDMI amp by default, the problem is back again, no sound (but everyting seems ok, the device is there on Windows etc). And I still have sound on my DP
screen or my USB headset. I can't figure it out.

This morning, my mate told me he switched is default analog audio to his USB headset to make a call, and now, he has a similar problem to mine, he can't have any sound on his speakers even with evertyhing looking right in Windows device manager and audio
peripherals management (his headsets still works too).

Do you have any idea?

no sound playing from USB headset

im using my USB headset my windows 10 got updated 2-3 weeks ago. my USB headset (logitech G930) haven't been able to play sound ever since.

i have tried theses solutions.

-setting my headset as my default device.

-un-installing/re-installing my audio drivers

the green bar that bounces up and down in correlation to sounds on the volume mixer is also absent.

also giving my headset an audio test doesn't seem to work either.

i have used this headset on my console and it projects sound fine.

also using earbuds works fine also.

 

Hi Tom Degang. Welcome to the TenForums.

If you click on device will it allow you to configure? (Lower left) What does it have under properties, lower right.

Could you share what type of sound card you have. With Realtek there is Realtek Audio manager with a separate set of settings.

My soundcard is a NVIDIA high definition audio.
I can't configure the device.

problem solved.
Did a clean re-install of win 10.
