Windows 10: Headset Connecting to Computer

When I plug in my headset to the jack, a thing pops up that asks which device I plugged in. When I choose the mic in setting, I can talk normally, and when I choose the headphones setting, I have audio. But when I choose the headset setting mic and audio, only audio works. How can I get the mic to work at the same time as the audio?

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set.
