Windows 10: Headset/Headphone mic not being detected

Hi, I have had this problem for a while: When I plug in my headphone my laptop never detects it as a headphone in fact, doesn't detect it at all, but the sound works just fine, and the mic does not. I've tried using two different functional headphones but both have the same problem. No mic.I've tried reinstalling audio drivers with no success. I've tried every single option in the MaxxAudioPro app, nothing.I have even reset my pc. It's a Dell G5 15 5587. I would be really glad if you could help me.

Headphones Not Detected

Wasn't sure what topic to put this under.

Windows 10 refuses to detect my headphones from my headset. The mic is fine. The computer even recognizes when I plug the headphones of the headset in. But it refuses to detect them. I can go into my Sound in Control Panel all day, and there will NEVER be any
headphones in that list. So, no, I cannot click headphones, just making that clear before someone suggests clicking on headphones.

How do I force Windows 10 to detect the headphones that I have plugged in, so that they will work? The jack is working fine. When I plug them in it gives me the pop-up letting me know that I plugged something into the jack. But that's the end of it. It will
not detect the headphones. Nothing comes out of them. There are no headphones in the Sound list. There is nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Why does it register something is plugged in and then refuse to detect it?

Someone please figure out why Windows 10 simply cannot detect headphones and help me fix this so I can use my headset.

 

Bluetooth headset is detected as headphones with mic sound can't be heard, in Windows 10

I have JBL Reflect Mini wireless bluetooth headset (headphone with mic)

Windows detected these devices:

- JBL Reflect Mini Stereo (playback) as headphones

- JBL bluetooth hands-free audio (playback) as headset

- JBL bluetooh hands-free audio (recording/mic) as headset

Why windows detected my stereo (the good speaker) as headphone?

When I use other headsets, it can playback the mic through the stereo, but on my JBL is not working.

I tried to change the sound device icon to the headset icon, but it is not working too.

Can anyone help me?

 

Headset mic

Depends on the specs of your hardware, you have not given enough detail.

PCs are normally separate Headphone and Mic sockets.
Laptops a Combo socket (TRRS).

Headsets usually come with adapters to cater for both scenarios.

My headset has a Combo plug (TRRS), and an adapter for separate Headphones and Mic sockets.

You can plug the Headset Combo plug in to a Headphone only socket, but the Mic won't work. there is no second R contact.
