Windows 10: Headset, inputting mic and headset jacks through headphone splitter. Not working on this...

Using microphone and headphones from same input through a headphone splitter. Works on different laptop, but doesn't work on my newer one because of Realtek not having an option to apply both at same time my other laptop doesn't have Realtek

mic/headphone combo jack not working with headset

I just bought a new laptop from hp and it came with a single headphone/microphone jack. I have a headset that has seperate 3.5mm mic and headphone connectors. I realized this and bought a splitter. I thought this would fix my problem but it does not seem
to be able to recognize the mic but the headphones work just fine. When i just plug in the mic a little window pops up saying "You just plugged a device into the audio jack" but when i go to sound>recording in control panel it says "mic in at front panel,
not plugged in". Also when i just plug the mic in the sound in the speakers no longer work. I think this might be where the problem lies but i dont know what to do about it. Just so you guys know all of the drivers are up to date, the mic does work on my other
computer, and no my mic is not muted. Any help is appreciated.

Single jack headset not working

I just bought a GXT 322 CARUS GAMING HEADSET. This headset comes with a single jack and a jack splitter.
My laptop (ASUS n551jm) has a single jack input.
Whenever I plugin my headset it won't recognize my microphone, only my headphone.

I also tried using the microphone by using the jacksplitter and only input the pink (microphone) jack. Without results.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

The headset came with none of its own drivers... Again the headset works fine on my other computer. Also i dont think it has anything to do with the splitter as if i just plug in the mic it still does not work.
