Windows 10: Headset Issues - Microsoft LifeChat LX4000

I have two Microsoft LifeChat LX4000 head sets, one device connects perfectly however the other connects as a USB audio device and can not hear any sound. I have attempted to set it as a default device in Playback Devices, however it does not register as a Microsoft LifeChat LX4000 like the other headset does. I can test the microphone phone and this registers but there is no playback for sound. any idea why this device isn't connecting properly?

running windows 10. both headsets previously worked fine.

lifechat XL3000 headset not working on Windows 10

This issue might occur if the headset is not configured properly on the new Windows. This is the reason it might not be working.

I appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

• Are you getting this error while installing the driver for LifeChat LX-3000?
• What is the exact error message you're getting?

I would suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps.

a) Click on
Download to install the setup/driver file for the LifeChat LX-3000 and install in Compatibility mode for Windows 10.

b) Long press or right click the driver installation file and select
Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.

c) Check the option Run this program in compatibility mode.

d) Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
OK.

e) Try installing the driver again.

lifechat lx-2000 headset

Hi,

On the Microsoft website it says that the lifechat lx-2000 headset is compatible with Windows 10. The mic on our headset works perfectly on a windows 7 machine, but not picked up at all on our windows 10 PC. I have searched the website for drivers and
not found any. If it is compatible can you please tell me where to find driverr?

 

Microsoft lifechat lx 3000 and windows 10

Hi, Eduardo. What did you uninstall? I followed the steps in method 1 (I think -- wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with the last step), but it didn't help. As Beyens_r said, method 2 doesn't add any LifeChat information to the list.

I do have the headset listed properly, and the headphones work great -- but no microphone.

This is a brand new headset, and it worked perfectly with Windows 8.1. :-(

By the way, after installing the Windows 7 drivers in Windows 8 compatibility mode, as an administrator, Device Manager seems to still be showing the same driver as before, dated 7/9. (I'm not 100% sure because I didn't check the version before installing
the Windows 7 drivers.

I'm really curious to know what you did differently. Is it still working?
