    Headset mic is picking up application sounds


    my arctis 1 wireless is picking up my application noises when i plug it into the two audio ports in the back of my pc or just in general I have an adaptor for logitech headphones that ive used with other headsets that worked fine but this particular headset plays back all audio that comes from my computer i've tried messing with the realtek audio settings and changing it to studio mixer and also seperating them as inouts and netiher one of those work it stops doing it as soon as I disconnect my mic or turn off my mic but if i connect it it will play all audio

    Headset mic not picking up sound.

    (1) Jiggle the wire where it connects at computer & at headset to see whether it is loose or frayed.

    (2) A BING of "Headset mic not picking up sound" is how I found the first one.

    Headset mic is picking up application sounds

    After Windows update, Realtek "Headphone" setting does not detect headset mic, while "Headset" setting detects mic but picks up computer sounds

    If your headset's physical volume knob is affecting your headset mic's pick up of your desktop audio sound, then your headset mic is set at too high of sensitivity.
