  1. Headset mic issues.

So just today I got a PDP Headset. It has a mic on it, and I can confirm the mic itself works just fine I tried it on my sister's laptop but it only makes blip noises on my laptop. No actual audio pickup. I've been trying for around 4-5 hours now and I've tried installing drivers, troubleshooting the issue, restarting my laptop, but to no avail. It was originally worse and sounded like static, but now it just sounds like little blips and stuff.

Please see what you all can do.

    :)

    Hi Robin,

There could be a number of factors as to why you are experiencing headset microphone issue. This could be caused by an outdated or incompatible device driver or an issue with the device itself.

I would like to know more about your concern. Kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried using another headset microphone? If so are you experiencing the same issue?
    • Is it happening on all applications that require a microphone?
    • Is the headset microphone detected under Device Manager?

Meanwhile, I suggest that you run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. To do this, refer to the steps below:

    • On the Start menu, type Troubleshoot and then hit
      Enter.
    • Under Find and fix other problems, click Hardware and Devices, and then select
      Run the troubleshooter.

Let us know how goes and we'll assist you further if needed.
