Windows 10: Headset microphone not being detected/used

Hey everyone. I have a Razer Blackshark V2x Headset and a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 Laptop. I recently reset my laptop from scratch and now the headset's microphone wont get used whenever I try to use it in apps like discord. The laptop just keeps using the laptop's own default microphone. Although the audio is working fine, the only issue is the microphone not being used. Any fixes I've tried to search are related to the laptop's mic or a separate microphone altogether. Need help on this

I want to use the microphone attached to the headset as I just bought the headset but my laptop is still using the built-in mic and the headset mic is not detected.

I recently bought a new headset with a microphone and I can hear audio through the headset but
my mic is not detected and it is still using my default Realtek computer microphone.

I've tried looking for hidden microphones but there are none.
I've re-installed my Realtek HD Audio driver.

But nothing seems to work.

What should I do to fix this?

 

Laptop not detecting headset microphone.

Recently, I bought a headset with a microphone attached for use when chatting with friends, the headphones are detected by my laptop and work perfectly fine however, the microphone doesn't work and isn't detected at all, i have followed all the steps I could find to try correcting this including checking microphone permissions, checking the device manager which does show the headset as an audio input and output, and also tried using the audio input troubleshooter which, when the headset is plugged in and mic is folded down to unmute it, thinks there's just nothing plugged into the audio jack as well. I even bought a USB-C to 3.5mm adaptor (which as far as I know has a DAC in it) to try and bypass the built-in audio jack but that also isn't detected. The laptop being used is a Dell G15 5511 with a HyperX Cloud Stinger headset.
