Windows 10: Headset Microphone not picking up any sound input on my PC only

Hi, I'm extremely confused by all of this and I just need to know what I can do to fix it. Just for clarification, I'm on Windows 11, it was installed about 6-ish months ago? Anyway, me and my sister planned to play some games together so we both bought these pretty inexpensive headsets with attached microphones.On her Windows 10 pc, she plugged it in and everything worked, she got a little Realtek audio popup registering the microphone and everything was fine. For me, not so much. We plugged in the headset and the actual headphones worked fine, no issues. But the microphone? No matter what we

Headset Microphone not picking up sound Windows 10

I have a Dell PC that works just fine. My Turtle Beach headset is a single-jacked 3.55mm jack. The headset works on my laptop, but when I plug into either the Mic input or Headset input the microphone won't pick up sound.

When I go into settings under Sound > Recording, no bars show up when I talk into the mic.

I have already uninstalled the specific drivers for the headset, both microphone and headphone. I have also completely uninstalled the default windows drivers. I have scanned them for updates, and still nothing.

Apps like TeamSpeak 3 will see that I have a mic plugged in, but no sound is detected.

Im sorry if I didn't explain this well enough. Im not too tec-savy. Please tell me if you need me to elaborate on anything.

 

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.

 

Laptop switching from headset to built-in microphone on its own.

I did disable the built-in microphone a few times during my initial troubleshooting. But that doesn't force the headset to pick up the sound input function. Even after reboot, I just have no microphone
at all while sound still comes through the headset.
