Windows 10: Headset Microphone wont unmute.

I purchase this headset and have been using it on with my Windows 10 laptop since November and it's been working fine. I updated my laptop on 02/14/2021 and could not unmute my mic since. The headset is connected through usb. there is an adapter that allows me to mut and unmute as well as raise and lower the volume and connected to the adaptor is the jack for the headphones. Initially, I thought maybe the adaptor was broken, so I ordered a new headset. Got it yesterday and tried to use it today im facing the same issues. I tried updating the drivers, but the computer said the drivers were up to date. I checked the compatibility of my headset with windows 10 and it is. I tried recovered the laptop to the version prior to the updates. That did nothing. I tried the automatic troubleshooting feature, and it registered that the device was muted and claimed to have unmuted the device, but it still was muted. I restarted my device that changed nothing. When I go to my sound setting the headphones work fine and are visible. The test for it works. But when checking for the microphone I cannot test it and the only option for it is to disable it. Ive removed the device and the mic and speaker works on the computer. I have also connected my headset to my sister's laptop, and it worked fine. I could mute and unmute normally. Can anyone help troubleshoot this issue? I work from home and Im missing out on work because of this issue with my microphone.

Can't unmute microphone?

In general, the microphone is on mute. We'd like to clarify following steps that you've done and ask you a few questions:

• When you unmute the microphone, is it via Recording tab under
  Recording devices?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Are there any newly installed applications that may have caused this?
• Is this an on going issue or recent?

Hi Ruth,

This issue might have been caused by a misconfigured settings or incompatible driver. For us to unmute the microphone, please follow these steps:

• At the system tray, right-click on the volume icon.
• Select Recording devices.
• On the Sound window, make sure that you are on the Recording tab.
• On the list of recording devices, double-click on your microphone device.
• Properties window will open. Click on Levels tab.
• Increase the Microphone slider to maximum.
• Click the speaker icon next to it to unmute the microphone.
• Click on Apply, and then click on OK to save changes.

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.
