Windows 10: Headset not showing up in sound devices?

My headset connects with a 3.5mm plug, I've used it before and it worked fine with the laptop, but now it just won't show as an available output device. I plug it in, I get the Realtek Audio Console popup asking which device I plugged in, I select headset, I hit okay, and then nothing happens. I've tried selecting other devices in the dropdown too just to see if I could get it connected somehow, but nothing works. The only available device that will show is the realtek speakers.I've tried checking disabled and disconnected devices in sound settings, it doesn't appear there. I've run sound trou

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

4. Please let us know the troubleshooting steps that you have performed to resolve this issue?

You can also try few troubleshooting steps to fix this issue and check if that helps:

Enable the Headset from playback devices.

To do that,

• 1. Type Control Panel in the Windows search bar.
     
  2. Open Hardware and Sound > Choose Playback
     
  3. Select SRS Premium Headset > Click on Set default.
     
  4. If you can't find it:
     

• Right click on an empty space and select, "Show disconnected devices" and "Show disabled devices".
• Select "Headset" and click on "Properties" and make sure that the Headset is enabled.

Getting sound with bluetooth headset

HI, I have bluetooth Samsung Gear Circle headset and a SoundBlaster Jam bluetooth headset. Both pair fine, both connect fine. No sound. They do not show up in "Select Device Playback". (Speakers and USB headphones show up in that list). I know that
they both worked at one time or another, but not this time. Am I missing a step?
