Windows 10: Headset not working unless I change Audio Quality in sound settings

One of our users is experiencing issues with headsets. They are connected to a docking station and when they take it out of the dock the headset stops working. This also happens the other way around.The only fix we found was to change the audio quality in the Windows 11 settings. It doesn't matter which level of quality is chosen, it will just work once it has been changed. It will also work if changed back to the original quality.Doesn't seem like a hardware issue as once the change is made in Windows it works as normal.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

I appreciate it I was more looking to see if anyone knows something that can fit my bill in that budget. Trust me I know all about the $300 range and even considered audio technica m50x with a condenser mic *Stick Out Tongue

 

Low quality audio in headset when microphone is activated

Anytime anything activates the mic (Discord, Skype, Webex, the recording tab in the sound part of the control panel) the audio quality in my headset is very low quality.

To Reproduce:

1. Play music of choice
   
2. Press the windows key and type sound
   
3. Click the Recording tab. Music will change to low quality
   
4. Click the Playback tab your music should sound normal
   
5. Rip hair out in frustration
