Windows 10: Headset picking up desktop audio.

My headset is picking up desktop audio even when muted. Yes, i already have 'listen to device' disabled. Sound drivers are up to date, and have not changed since when the problem started. I also already have all other recording devices disabled. Interestingly enough, when I look at the microphone in the sound control panel, it doesn't say the mic is picking up noise, yet when I tested with recording programs, I can hear the audio from my desktop.

You could try going into settings and running the 'Troubleshooter'. Although this might not work as I think it may be a software/driver issue.




Ah okay. I have had a look at the manufacture Nubwo, and there doesn't seem to be any official drivers or software listed.

Thus I would suggest we try and uninstall everything related to the headset, and then let everything install automatically, as it had done on the other desktop (assuming everything was automatically configured, and it just worked).

1.) See if you can first remove the Realtek Audio Manager 1.0.0.222 software by uninstalling it.

• Settings > Apps > Click on the app and select 'Uninstall.'

2.) After that right click on Start menu (*Start) and select 'Device Manager'

• Under the 'View' tab, select 'Show hidden devices'
• Then click on the arrow before 'Sound, video and game controllers' as well as 'Audio inputs and outputs' (this should drop down to reveal a list of audio drivers and headsets)
• I can help you with which driver (in relation to your headset) to uninstall, if you post back with a screenshot.

Optional.) Or if you are comfortable with knowing which driver to uninstall, then do so

• Right click on the driver name > Uninstall (Check 'delete software for this device'). Perform a restart and plug the headset back in.

If so, Please follow the suggested methods below.

**Press Start then search Device Manager

Expand the Sound, video and game controllers

Find the Audio driver in the list

Right click it and select Update

Click "Browse my computer for driver software"

Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

Make sure to put a check mark "Show compatible hardware"

Select an older driver from the list

Click Next then Restart your computer

**Right click the volume icon on the taskbar

Select Sounds then click Recording tab

Double click Microphone

Click the Levels tab then make sure the slider is set to 100

Click Advanced tab

Uncheck the box to "Allow application to take exclusive control on this device"

If the issue persists, What is the exact make and model of your computer?

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: msinfo32

Press Enter

headset mic not picking up voice, picks up desktop audio

i've tried everything i could find, to no avail. i understand it could possibly be a hardware issue but i'd like to try this first to see if it's something else. my headset mic stopped working and only produces a slight static sound, but the headphones themselves still work fine. it also picks up any desktop audio that's playing. i've checked a few things, i know it isn't the 3.5 jack on my computer. i've also tried things such as the speech troubleshooter, system volume, driver update/reinstall, and everything else i've found about similar issues, yet nothing's worked. all applications and the os are picking up the microphone, it's plugged in, but my voice doesn't go through. the mic has worked fine with no issues prior to this occuring, which was a couple days ago. the headset is a razer blackshark v2x. if there are any other details needed, i'll do my best to give them. thanks.
