  1. Headset Plugged In with microphone, yet in settings it says no input device found. Help?

Hi, So I got a new PC a couple days ago, and I haven't noticed until now that the microphone doesn't work? I've tried practically everything, updating drivers, enabling devices, and even tried a different pair of headphones. But every time I plug my headphones into the headphone jack, it says there's no input device and I can't connect anything to a microphone. Mind you I'm using the steel series arctic 3 built in microphone!!!. I have realtek audio control but nothing their really even changes anything. I try to plug it into the microphone jack and it STILL DOESN'T WORK! I'm actually gonna

  2. I NEED HELP I HAVE A AUDIO HEADSET MEANING THAT I HAVE A MICROPHONE ON A HEADPHONE BUT IT SAYS THAT WHICH DEVICE I PLUGGED IN PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

Hello and welcome to Microsoft Community!

Typically, when you plug in an audio headset with a microphone, your computer or device should be able to automatically recognize it and set it up as an input device. Here are some suggestions for you to consider.

    Check your device settings.

In Settings or Control Panel, find the "Sound" or "Audio" settings.

Check the list of input devices and see if you can find your headset microphone.

If it's there, make sure it's checked as the default input device.

    Check the headset connection.

Make sure the headphone plug is fully inserted into the audio jack of your device.

If using a 3.5mm plug, try re-inserting it a couple of times to ensure a good connection.

If using a USB connection, make sure the drivers are installed correctly.

Also you can check the volume and mute settings: Make sure the volume of the headset microphone is not muted or turned down. Check that the volume level of the microphone is correct in the settings.

Finally you can try restarting the device: Sometimes restarting the device can solve some connection problems.

I hope these suggestions are helpful.

    Best Regards!

  3. Computer microphone won't work when headset is plugged in

My computer's microphone is functional if nothing is plugged in. When I connect a wired headset, however, the microphone does not work. The headset has a microphone, and it works properly on other devices, but not on my computer. Moreover, this issue persists with other headsets- they work on other devices but not when plugged in to my computer.

I think the issue may be that Windows does not recognize my headset as an audio input device? When I plug it in and look at input devices, only the default computer microphone (Realtek(R) Audio) is listed. This is the same input that is available when no headset is plugged in.

Can anyone recommend a fix? I have ensured that all drivers are updated, so that's not the issue. The microphone is also not muted, the headset connection is secure (audio output works as expected- using it as a microphone is the only issue)

Headset and headset microphone cannot be discovered as output and input devices

Could someone please help me with my problem? When I have plugged my Logitech g233 headset with the microphone into my laptop, I cannot find it in settings under the list of devices, and the microphone does not work as I cannot
select it (I can only find speakers (Realtek high definition audio) and microphone array(Realtek high definition audio)). However, when I have plugged it into another laptop in the same way, it works and I can find it
as an input and output device on settings (they are discoverable as headphones(Realtek high definition audio) and headset microphone (Realtek high definition audio)). I have ensured that it was plugged in correctly in both cases.
May I know some possible causes for this problem and how to fix it?

Also, if this helps, I cannot find the app "Realtek Audio Console" on the laptop that I am having problems with but I can find it on the laptop which the headset and microphone work on. I have tried to install it but I do not know how to do so.
